PCR Initiates Creation of Subspecialty Groups for PMA

One of the advocacies of the Philippine College of Radiology Board of Trustees for 2017-2018 under the leadership of Dr. Jerome A. Gaerlan is encouraging the creation of subspecialty groups in Neuroradiology, Head and Neck, Chest Radiology, Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal, Pediatric Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.  The purpose of which is to group together specialists in the different fields to enhance each others’ skills, to educate other radiologists  by providing Postgraduate  courses and by creating fellowship programs to train and harness the skills of our young radiologists to address the changing needs of our country.

The first consultative meeting was held on May 27, 2017 at Le Bar @ Sofitel, Manila, 2-5 PM.

PCR President Jerome A. Gaerlan identified the responsible persons to create these subspecialty societies namely Dr. Irma Kintanar for Neuroradiology, Dr. Bernard Laya for pediatric imaging,  Dr. Eugene Dy for musculoskeletal imaging and  Dr. Allan Manalaysay for nuclear imaging.  We are looking forward to induct the new officers of these subspecialty societies on the 70th PCR Annual Convention on February 15-17, 2018 at Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom.
